Sleep Training Your Baby

Teaching your baby to sleep through the night is not as hard as it seems. By the age of four months, most babies have the ability to sleep 7 hours or longer at a stretch. All three of my children were sleeping through the night by 3 months. It’s all about feeding your baby enough at night and establishing a consistent bedtime routine. Your baby may even sleep longer if you master some soothing techniques and try setting an early bedtime.

Handling Baby Sleep Problems

Of course, you’re not here because your baby consistently sleeps 11-12 hours every night. There’s a whole host of baby sleep problems that may get in the way of your little one’s healthy sleep habits. Figuring out why baby won’t sleep can be frustrating, but it’s often a matter of trial and error. It usually comes back to some aspect of food and digestion – a baby that’s hungry, has gas, or needs a better sleep diaper will wake you up just about every time. I also have guides on less common but harder to fix problems including reflux/colic, the torture of teething, diagnosing ear infections, and getting a sick baby to sleep.
